Although graffiti culture had not lost its criminal reputation amongst the general public by 1998, the lifestyle itself was thriving. Two years after its creation, the Under Pressure Festival was picking up speed; this time, it featured both local and international graffiti writers, including Toronto’s Kwota Crew, Ottawa’s Alpharatz, and Philadelphia’s NSF Crew.
By featuring breakdancers, DJs, and BMX dancers, Under Pressure pushes the limits of creative expression and allows artists of all kinds to participate, ensuring there’s something for everyone. In 1998, the festival hosted b-boys like Game Over and Iron Monkey, and DJs A-Trak, Nerve, and Turntable Dragun’z brought the music.
