Eric Clement & Trevor Wheatley

Eric Clement’s work is centered on exploring issues of personal identity and projected images of self. Logos and symbols are re contextualized and pop culture images are obscured and collaged forming new compositions. These elements are used as memory triggers (conscious or subconscious) in Eric’s work encouraging the viewer to consider both the original history of the logo or object and the dialogue created by its juxtaposition with other deconstructed logos or symbols. Eric has been involved in The Montreal Hip Hop scene for over 10 years and references hip hop cultures appropriation of outside fashion and icons in his work. Eric is currently finishing a BA at Concordia University and his work has been featured on clothing, album covers, and prints and in several exhibits over the past 5 years.
